Kennedy is the most girly girl ever! Which is a drastic change from my rough and tumble boys! She loves all things pretty, pink, and sparkly! She loves to be in dresses and tutus and I knew photographing her would be a blast. So, I called my partner in crime Courtney, of Courtney Jade Photography and she agreed to photograph my little darling.

I knew that we only needed a few props and a beautiful backdrop. There was a lady named Cindy, of Groovy Girls Garage who was selling this amazing Old Hollywood Regency Italian Parlor Chair on craigslist! When I saw it, I had to have it, but I didn’t want to foot the bill. So, I nicely emailed Cindy and told her what I was planning for Kennedy’s shoot and simply asked to borrow it. Hey, you never know unless you ask, right? To my delight, she totally agreed to let us use it. And to top it off, she also let us shoot at her house which was beautiful! She seriously was the kindest person ever.

There should have been a camera crew following us around that day! Courtney and I were carrying around this heavy chair in one hand and Kennedy in the other. They don’t make furniture like they use to. That sucker was heavy! I am sure we looked like a hot mess carrying this heavy oversized chair and a baby back into the forest. However, the pictures turned out AH-MAZING! I would do it again in a heartbeat!

And when we were done, we even asked to fill up the bucket we brought with water. This sounds a lot like, “If You Give A Mouse A Cookie.” However, our title would be, “If you let a Party Planner Borrow Your Parlor Chair,” bahaha!

I had this idea in my head that we would do a cake smash session and then put Kennedy in the same bucket that we used for her newborn shoot. I thought it would be a fun size comparison! So, we grabbed our bucket and speed off with our sloshing water in tow to our next location, the side of the road. Yes, on our drive in we saw beautiful tall golden grass on the side of the road. It was the perfect backdrop for her cake smash session.

Kennedy_11 Kennedy_12 The bucket of water was totally not necessary, but was a fun addition, no doubt! I love her faces. I love all of her little crazy expressions! I just love her so much and am trying to soak it all in (pun intended).

Seriously, almost every photo was perfect!  I loved them all so much that I had to make a booklet invitation. There were just too many cute photos to pass up! This is the problem when you have a talented photographer and an adorable little girl. Too much cuteness! I made it work though! Here are some photos of the invitation!

Kennedy_16 I bought a bottle of spray glitter from the craft store and sprayed this page. This is the center of the booklet and I thought it would be fun if it was really glittery!! I love glitter!

So, what do you think? I love how they turned out, but I am a little biased! I also sell these Royal First Birthday Booklet Invitations in my shop. If these are too over-the-top for you, I also created a Royal Birthday Folded Invitation and a flat Royal Birthday Invitation.

I bet you want to see her party now too, right? Well, you’re going to have to wait a few more days. . .
