I can’t believe I styled and shot this party right before school was out, and now school is back in session and it’s almost No School November. Where did the summer go? I know I spent this summer throwing fun parties for Oriental Trading and this Kids Pineapple Playdate was one of my favorites. Check out all of the details. . .
This review is based strictly on my opinion. I was provided these samples free of charge by Oriental Trading to provide my honest review. I was also compensated to blog on the Oriental Trading Blog. Sometimes it’s fun to just throw a party just because. Are your kids constantly begging you for a playdate? Why not make it a party too!? I mean you are probably going to be doing some entertaining and feeding them anyways, right? Playdates don’t have to be this elaborate by any means, but if you want to have a little more fun with them, then you need to check out how to Throw a Pineapple Playdate on the Oriental Trading Blog.
pineapple play date decor ideas
This table runner was one of my favorite DIYs from this party. It was pretty easy to make too. Even better, right? I took a piece of white tulle, bought a few sheets of neon poster board from the dollar tree, and cut out a bunch of triangles. You can make the triangles all the same size or vary them. I used a few different size. To make is super fast, I used my Silhouette Cameo to cut these out, but you could hand cut or use a punch too. Then just take your hot glue gun and start gluing them on. The glue also keeps the runner from falling off the table.
I also used the triangles and fishing line to create these fun chair backs. Triangles were the perfect detail for this Kids Pineapple Playdate. I tried to carry them throughout my other designs too.
Another one of my favorite items from this party was the adorable yellow and green Pineapple Cups. They are really fun and they are perfect for little hands. I just love them so much!
They also looked good next to the kids place settings. It was a fun way to put each of the kids names on them too. This way they can keep their drinks straight! Kids always love seeing their names on things.
I’m obsessed with layer plates. Oriental Trading has such a wide variety of plates. They look even cuter with a clear plate and a festive label on top. Basically, it’s the concept of having a charger + a plate all on one.
pineapple playdate crafts
Kids need to be entertained and you know I love crafts that also double as decorations too. So, I created these fun Party Like a Pineapple and Stand Tall Darling Printables. You can check out all the step-by-step details at DIY Self Adhesive Jewel Art. You could also simply print these and color them too!
Another fun activity would be for the kids to make these darling Kids Pineapple Headbands. They were super fun and easy to make and would be great for Halloween too! Isn’t she just the cutest little pineapple?
pineapple playdate party favors
I didn’t do a lot of food for this party besides cupcakes. You can make your own, buy store bought ones, etc. I got these from Kyra’s Bake Shop and simply added the little food picks as embellishments. I mean, it doesn’t get much easier. You could also send these cupcakes home as a party favor too!
I put together little favors for the kids to take home. I filled up little Bright Yellow Pails full of little Pink Gum Gems, added a Flamingo Swirl Pops, these little white sunglasses, and put them in an inflatable flamingo coaster. The kids were in love with these little flamingo coasters. I mean, they are pretty cute!
We also sent the kids home with these darling little jars of candy too. This is another from party favor that the kids loved. You can’t go wrong with little jars of candy!!
Hopefully you have a bunch of fun party ideas for your next kids play date! Remember, you can take these ideas and make them your own! You can make this as easy or complicated as your schedule allows. Just remember to have fun!
