You can get a ton of inspiration from the Oriental Trading blog, I always include fun tutorials and tasty recipes. You know I always love to start off my posts by sharing the invitation. Oriental Trading has some super fun DIY Message in a Bottle containers. I knew they would be perfect for the invitation. Soon, you can pick these fun invites up in my shop.
Next let’s chat about another important element at any party, the food. Am I right? When I attend kids birthday parties, I am always excited to eat cake. Don’t get me wrong, other food excites me too, but the CAKE! This party was no exception. This cake looked incredible too. My go-to place is always Kyra’s Bake Shop. I honestly think this cake is incredible!
Do you want to hear a funny story though. . . ? We were loading the car up before we made our way to beach. My husband was extra careful with the cake, but he put it in between the driver and passenger seats. I wasn’t satisfied with it’s placement and I went to move it to the floorboard. Well, let’s just say I smashed it into the dashboard. Ooops! A few years ago, I probably would have freaked out. I was so proud of myself because I didn’t even get mad. I knew I could fix it in photoshop. The moral of the story is, everything will be okay. The cake still tasted amazing too.
I also made adorable little cheesecake shooters. They were super easy to make and all you need is a box of prepackaged Jello Cheesecake and a few staple ingredients you probably already have in your cabinet. You can check out the Cheesecake Shooters with Fondant Toppers tutorial. Did you notice my matching nails? I even had them done to match the theme of the party.
If you follow my blog or parties, you know how much I love these Mini Navy Popcorn Boxes. They are perfect for just about any treat and they come in a ton of colors. I filled these with powdered donuts. Just add a cute label to them and they look darling.
They even come in a Nautical Striped print too. Check out these Nautical Girl Popcorn Box. They were the perfect fit and look incredible too.
A party isn’t complete without a beverage. I love these mini bottles. Using some jute and a wintergreen lifesavers, you can create a simple, yet festive beverage charm. I have a confession to make. I probably had one or two of these wintergreen lifesavers in my whole life. Since this shoot, I have eaten like 2 bags full. Sigh! They are tasty and cute though!
Here you can see my adorable little guy modeling these sweet drinks and making them look even more delicious. Isn’t he handsome!
You know I always do some fun activities too. I set up a Sand Art Necklace Bottle activity. I really love how they turned out. Check out the step-by-step tutorial.
I really think these are a fun project for adults and kids alike. What do you think of the final outcome?
Package them up nicely in these Navy Pillow Boxes.
Another fun activity that I set up was digging for dollars, sand dollars, that is. Simply set up a few buckets, add in some sand, and check out the post Digging for Dollars Activity for the detailed instructions.
Here are a few more photos of the full party. Check out all of the other fun details. . . . the majority of these items are from Oriental Trading. It’s so much fun shopping on their site. I hope you enjoy it as much as I do.
Okay, I had to include this cute little face too. She is just the cutest little nugget. She is always willing to help me model too! I pay her in donuts and kisses.
