Can I just start out by saying I am beyond excited to be working with the Happy Family brand?! Though I was not paid to participate, Happy Family was generous enough to give me a couple bags of their new Happy Tot Best Friends toddler cookies and these “blank” cookie jars. My kids begged me to break into these adorable, organic puppy-shaped cookies. Emerson, our 4 year old, literally asked me about 10 times if it was “time” to open them yet?! He was so excited when I told him it was finally “time” to open them.
We have some major dog lovers at our house and these cookies were a fast hit. The kids loved them because they are shaped like puppies, and I loved them because they are organic. So, it’s a win-win. As a Mom of four kids, it’s important to me to feed my children food that not only tastes great, but that is also good for them. It’s also my goal to let them be kids and have fun with their food. These puppy shaped cookies meet all of my criteria. Did I mention that they come in two delicious flavors? You can choose between Chocolate Pumpkin or Honey Buckwheat. Both of which are equally delicious.
In celebration of National Best Friends Day in June, Happy Family gave us the task to decorate two cookies jars. One for our little ones and one for their bestie. How cute is that?
At first, I really wasn’t sure what I was going to do. Since I have a vinyl cutter, I decided using vinyl lettering would be the best route. Plus, I already had several colors on hand. I wanted to try and stick with the Happy Family brand identity, so I used reds, oranges, yellows, and greens.
Though I love the puppy shaped cookies, I didn’t want people to think these were dog treats. Now that I am thinking that through, I suppose it would be sort of weird for dogs to eat treats shaped like dogs. Haha! Can you tell it’s late and my humor is questionable at this point?
Okay, back to my inspiration. . . I started thinking about what goes well with cookies. Everyone knows that milk is a cookie’s best friend. Why reinvent the wheel on this one? So, I had milk + cookies, now what? Since we are celebrating National Best Friends Day, I thought the saying, “We go together like Milk and Cookies” would be the perfect fit. I put my own special spin on it and added the word “organic” in there. Did I also mention that these cookies are also gluten free.
I designed this little saying and then cut it out in vinyl. Then, I simply applied it to the cookie jar. It was that simple. I also bought a cute bottle and filled it with milk and added “organic milk” to the side. I used a bit of twine to add a little texture. The benefit of using vinyl is that I can remove it at any time. I’m a women and I am fickled, and I reserve the right to change my mind. Vinyl lettering allows me to do just that.
Did I mention this is a competition? You will get a chance to vote for your favorite cookie jar design and the winner will receive a $300 Visa gift card. Now that would certainly buy me a lot of Happy Tot Best Friends toddler cookies, right? Please feel free to vote for the design that you like the best, even if it’s not mine. Don’t worry, I won’t cry over spilt milk. Are my jokes getting better? Haha! Now go out there and vote on the Happy Family’s Facebook page.
